Undisclosed use of Denuvo Anti-Tamper (Update: devs reacted)
Update: The developers announced that they changed their plans and that Inzoi will not use Denuvo. Here's a link to the announcement: https://steamcommunity.com/games/2456740/announcements/detail/512953841353752634?snr=2___

According to the IP it's trying to connect to, srv01.codefusion.technology, the Demo (Character Creation) uses Denuvo undisclosed.

According to EU legislation, California under AB 2426, and other various countries: disclosure of encryption methods and interoperability issues in advance are a legal requirement.

Great. For now will keep the game in watchlist for at least 2 weeks after release - to understand if the real game has or has no Denuvo... I have strong No-Denuvo requirement for any game.
Feel free to follow this curator: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/26095454/
We will have an announcement up for the full game as soon as we can check the files.

Transparency is good for everyone on the long term - including the devs.
(Thanks a lot for the points people but keep them to buy yourself something nice)

now that's a good rebound response. kudos.
Edit: You aren't getting away from the smarty pants award that easily.

Well on the games store page, so far the only thing in that part of the store page where it would be, there is only the must agree to a 3rd party EULA. Which is pretty standard for a lot of games.

That one I checked - and all of the pages of all of the agreements too. No mention of Denuvo in any of em... But I personally awaiting for the release and then for 2 weeks will monitor the news in this regards. I do not want to buy a game that has potential usage of Denuvo.
EDIT: I was searching for "Denu" in all of those agreements..

It will be interesting when the game goes into EA if the store page changes, I have seen it before where a a few games store pages did not mention it, then bam on the games release denuvo was put on the store page.
Sware it had third party account required a few days ago now it doesn’t unless it another game am thinking of.

Happily, I saw this thread before I fell into the trap of buying it. I will never support games that use this garbage virus called denuvo!

Let's wait and see if they in the end include it or not :)

they changed it to 3rd party account probably due to steam rules.
its the same thing, you'll still need to create that k something account in order to access the game.

i mean it used to be on the store page in the orange banner now its just third party EULA without saying needing an account but we all know u do but this can still mislead others unless they add it back on release day.

I tried to get the demo running on Saturday and run into the anti tampering protection. I had to wait 24h.

I was on Fedora 40 and played the demo in august.
I watched the stream and updated the game. I also reinstalled the demo and tried steam flatpak and the rpm.
I also tried proton 9.0.4, hotfix, experimental, ge-26. But no luck.
Most of the time I got the inzoi logo followed by a test picture (like on tv in the old days). with proton ge I got the inzoi loading screen.
But always the game closed after some seconds.

Somehow I hid with this behavior the anti tampering protection.

Got an error popup with a link to a site were the said I can't re-activate the game and have to try again in 24h.
In the footer of the site was denuvo written.

I hadn't an idea that's a bad thing.

I don't like these developers stance and attitude on certain things before their game is even released.. I for one won't be supporting them not only for their arrogant attitude but for their asking price, I'm not paying $70-80 in my currency.

I don't care. Denuvo doesn't cause as many problems (In my experience) as people love to exaggerate. At most it increases CPU usage which isn't going to be a problem. I'm still looking to get Inzoi day one.

Using additional cpu resources in a simulation game where cpus are already being taxed seems like it could be problematic. I guess we'll see in a few days if it actually has Denuvo and how the benchmarks are looking.

Ok - did a quick check of all IP's the game was connecting to (with some magic help of ChatGPT :D)
Here are results:

PS C:\Users\{ME}\OneDrive\Dators> powershell -executionpolicy bypass -file ".\quick-check.ps1"

New IP found: 3.164.230.50
Monitoring stopped. IP list saved to connections.txt.

Edit - checked DNS of each - 1 AWS server and 4x CloudFront servers. Also noting that the script ignores (by my request) different port connections - as we care about server connections and not various port connections to the same server.

Further edit - My check was launching the game, Entering character creator, clicking around, generate a new texture, apply texture, back to main menu, entering building mode, clicking around,

And even further edit: relauched the game and got other IPs but again 1x AWS and 4x CloudFront, with only this "108.157.214.56" cloudfront IP matching previous run. So probably Load Balanced which is good...

@assassinLV You need to delete the Denuvo activation token first or it won't connect again to a codefusion server until it's invalidated - that's how they make it temporarily allow offline mode. Also you should track domain names rather than IP adresses. Adresses can change over time, contrary to domain names.
Here's a useful list of resources : https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Denuvo
