Just had a quick play of the build mode and generative texture gen.
First thank you for not making the build mode simplistic, I can see myself spending a TON of time in this!
Second I love the generative texture ability, you have essentially given us infinite creativity.

Can I ask though:
1) when the game comes out will generative remain free to all? I am hoping its using our own hardware and not a central server?
2) will we also be able to import textures? I can see me creating more complex stuff with comfyui.

So far this is a day one buy from me.

*bump*
You can already now import textures - if not mistaken..
Not played this yet at all, but from what I have read ppl are importing textures/using gen AI to create them. I have also read that the AI uses players' hardware, but I don't know much about that really.

didnt see the option, but gonna look again. I am also hoping we can edit the api link to aim at our own LLM's and image generation tools (comfyui workflow api access would be amazing.... though yeah importing the image does the same thing... just more steps lol)

I feel it's unlikely that AI uses local PC, because then they wouldn't include in the policies to not to try to generate NSFW things or to bypass those filters.

If its local thats awesome, less chance they will paywall it later and possibility modders will find a way to let us use larger models or even...as i hope... our own api's.

I am actually more excited for this game than atomfall at this point lol

Also + for ability to use custom API calls to own sever or local machine for own model/flow uses..
The AI stuff is local; it uses a small language model and runs on your hardware. The Smartzoi feature also uses your GPU, and the game lowers your graphics settings to prevent it from getting overwhelmed while handling both graphics and AI processing.
Well smartzoi has to use local that's yeah. But cool if also the image gen uses local.. Then I don't know how would they punish (block AI usage) of those who do not follow the AI Generation rules...

They so would lol. They wont want people sharing NSFW stuff on thier services. So long as they dont enforce what you do on your own pc (and do not share with others ingame) then I see no harm in a no nsfw policy on their servers.
Tbh in terms of wallpaper, item textures etc I am not sure anyone would go for NSFW stuff lol.

With the local model included (if it is local) it is likely a very censored model, one of the reasons i would want to use my own models or api's, not for NSFW but simply that censored models often have issues because large parts of the training data are missing or locked off. (sd3 woman laying on grass, is a great example of this). Though it could be clip text encoder level censorship which would be better.... though likely jailbroken the first week lol.

I wandered off topic... Yes even if its on our hardware they will put a policy in place to prevent the sharing (on their servers) of NSFW content. I doubt, beyond the obligatory uncensor mod, people will be using this game for nsfw stuff though, so mute issue?

I just hope they give us the option (or modders make the option) for us to use openai compatable api's.
We could run a llm on another machine to offload the workflow (or in my case i would use featherless to use a more powerful LLM than my machine could handle)

Time will tell I guess.

Ok, found confirmation of local AI usage:
"The Tools models operate on an on-device basis, minimizing environmental impact by reducing CO2 emissions typically associated with large-scale server operations. This design ensures user privacy while supporting sustainable development. "
in "AI-based Tools Terms and Disclaimer" on https://playinzoi.com/en/clause/ai_tools_terms
Although it seems that they do keep logs of the AI usage their-side to keep the filters up to date.

I feel very sorry for who ever has to read them lol
I suppose there would be as minimum one entry of "Bunny, bunny, bunny, what's so bunny, in this bunny world?" :D

Although I would suppose that they would just use AI to get through all of the logs to mark potential miss-uses and involve humans only when marked as potentially breaking rules.
