I have
i5 13th gen
Gtx 4060
16 ram
on my leptop
System
Ram: 16GB
CPU: 12th Gen Intel Core 17-12700H
GPU:
- Intel Iris Xe Graphics
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Laptop GPU
Windowing System: Wayland
GNOME Version: 47
Steam Version: 1741737356 stable
I tried steam flatpak and the steam rpm (both same version)
Also tried Proton 9.0-4, Hotfix, Experimental, GE-Proton9-26, GE-Proton9-25
With any combination of the following launch options
-vulkan
-windowed
-dx12
The game is always closing after some seconds.
I didn't get any helpful error message on the terminal.
Mostly I got a little picture with the cat and inzoi in the middle of the screen. Followed from full screen test picture (like the one on TVs in the past).
Only with GE-Proton9-26 I got a loading screen instead. (mostly white picture with inzoi and loading circle in the o of inzoi)
In august the demo worked.
I also reinstalled and verified the installed files several times.
I tried so many combinations that I hit the anti tampering wall on saturday.
I'm run out of ideas what to try next.
So would be grateful for any help and hope the early access game wouldn't have such problems as I just don't have a windows installation.
RTX 3060ti
32GB DDR5
1TB M.2 SSD
Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Steam Proton Experimental
No issues. I can play right out the box with decent performance on ultra settings within the demo.
Bloated pieces of filth. I ended my time with Windows when windows 7 extended support ended at the start of 2020 and haven't looked back since.
...time to flush the toilet.
i'm aware Windows 7 had telemetry, but not as much as windows 10 and 11. when i learned how much they put into 10 and 11.. yeah, not a chance.
Some version of Linux are pretty similar to windows and easier to swap over to than others, for example Mint is one of the best for newcomers to try out. Please be aware there could be some command/console line commands you might need to do, you should be able to find help on a search engine easily enough as there is a lot of resources out there on the web should you need it.
It depends how open you are for new stuff.
There are distributions which try to be similar.
But nowadays it isn't hard to switch.
Just put it on a usb stick and boot and try it.
The performance on a ssd will be better but for first look usb is fine.
But you have to validate which of your applications has a version for linux or where you have to switch to an alternative.
Most alternatives would also run on windows.
Mf w11 doesnt even let me execute google setup file
