Sims is so cooked
RIP to the poor EA Sims developers. EA is about to close their studio.

Hey, your free to be wrong, that's a right you have.
A game is only dead when nobody plays it anymore.
And when inZoi comes out, Sims 4 will get more players again.

Simply because many may not be able to play the game due to the requirement or other reasons. And it's not uncommon for people to play an alternative.

It's like when a new dragon series comes out and you feel like playing GoT or something similar again.

A new release in the genre not only revitalizes the new game but also older ones.

Who gives a F about ghosts and vampires in a life simulation game? lmao are you even serious? This is one of the many downfalls for The Sims, no one wanted this supernatural crap.

Knowing them i'm sure TS5'll be as downgraded if it ever comes out. Remember when we got actual open world in TS3? They removed it because it ran terribly it hurted their DLC sales (oho who would've though) instead of working on optimize them to run better. Like there'll be anything to expect from lazy cashgrab bunch? Pretty sure i'd pick a lifeless life sim game over that slop anytimes.
When photography appeared someone declared 'art is dead'.

And artists made a lot less money after that.
Make it denuvo-free, and we've got a decent replacement. But right now it looks like they care more about their corporate overlords, then the actual player

Are you seriously comparing things that came out in one game over 10 years in a ton of DLC to an early access game that looks better from the start?
I remind you that in the basic sims 4 there weren't even pools, thieves and newborns, just saying ;)

Didn't follow the news about EA recently but last time I saw one they were talking about they're learning new things everyday playing Animal Crossing. Not sure what their current plan is, maybe they're more interested in mixing all the popular genres into Sim 5 -- rogue like farming Sim simulator or something?? -- rather than evolving The Sims on virtical scale.

Either way, I don't think EA cares about this game. But it's perfectly okay for me because I love to see and play a better variant of this genre!!

From what i'm seen and done so far in game, i'd say the sims is cooked as far as i'm concerned. when the modders and developers start expanding all sorts of choices for character studio and in game, this game is going to take off and i'm not looking back once my sims are all zoi's.

Yeah it has them after $120 of DLC.

The real Sims Killer was The Sims itself when 4 was the most soulless slop ever produced, so much so that it took them an entire decade to add burglars (adding a mechanic present in the base games of 3 prior titles was considered a big deal btw). Not a singular droplet of love went into it, unsurprising given that Maxis by then was a Ship of Theseus.

You don't even own the game, how would you know?
Only $40, why not?

I'm guessing whoever it is you're talking to has this thing called eye balls.
