Are there ghosts? Or mystical Zois?
Good afternon.

I'm wondering if there are any players who like the transformation of our Zoi into a ghost in the afterlife thanks to karma system just like me. I mean, if developers properly present mystical phenomena in a game based on realism it would be an interesting experience. Because in real life nobody can prove whether ghosts exist or not so perhaps this will not affect the game's approach to realism in any way. I think, It would also be interesting to play as a fantasy character especially if it's a conscious choice of player. It would be great if mystical Zois would hide it from others. That's what society usually does in real life, isn't it? Other Zois may not realize that your character is a werewolf or may be a mermaid because they can look completely normal, until that character falls into the water and grows a fish tail or until that character accidentally goes outside at night on a full moon. Most likely this will cause fright or surprise in other Zois which can also affect the relationship and so it would give to characters more special actions in the game.

But these are just thoughts about this. Perhaps someone likes the ordinary world more.

I would absolutely love the implementation of more supernatural elements. I’m sure Korean mythology(?) would lend well to it as well, though I’m very unfamiliar with any of their creatures.

They probably have mermaids though, most cultures touching water do in some capacity.

That said I know some people hate supernatural elements, so keeping it on a slider or making it a thing only introduced when the player interacts with it would be a good thing to implement.

As far as I know this is supposed to come, according to Asian Lore. I don't know Yokei's or something. So far, only ghosts are certain. They will definitely come and are strongly anchored in the karma system.
People with bad karma are not granted eternal rest or reincarnation, and roam the world as evil spirits until their karma is good enough. As an Asian game, it's about Buddhism or so, and these creatures are an integral part of it.

In fact, it would be really interesting to see how the developers present this. Especially if it really is something from Korean mythology which is significantly different from the mythology of other nations.

By the way, this is a great idea. Or the ability to disable these functions in the game settings somehow.

I just really missed the days of games where the most random occurrence would happen with some supernatural entity, and then the game wouldn’t elaborate on it like it was normal. Like Harvest Moon and their kappas, Zelda and the toilet hand, or Pokemon and their many ghost encounters.

Course those are all Japanese games, and some of them are references to their folklore, like kappas and the toilet hand being yokai I believe, but based on a search it appears Korea, along with China and Vietnam, has yokai as well.

Yokais generally play a fairly significant role in all Asia. You encounter them everywhere in media, games, books, and religion.

So I wouldn't be surprised if they put more of it in.

However, only spirits/ghost are currently known, as an integral part of the karma system.

when they come. This will probably happen much later in development. as version 0.1

Yeah, I think I’m most familiar with Chinese and Japanese folklore, but really only through a large abstraction of their concepts.

I played a game called Amazing Cultivation Sim and it was awesome, not sure how accurate it is to Chinese mythos, but based on the media I’ve been reading it would appear there are at least reoccurring ideas like enlightenment of humans, objects, and animals, as well as what appears to be an ascension to god hood by way of trials. Was really eccentric in the best way, very different from what I was used to seeing by way of Greek, Roman, and Norse mythos.

Course that game was a half genre away by being similar to Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress, so I don’t expect Inzoi to suddenly include random rpg elements like that, but a bit of randomness inspired by some Korean stories would be welcomed.

I didn't have a lot of imagination in games because most were just the same, but then i played games like Far Cry 4 which introduced some of that Indian/nepalese influence, i had to say i loved it, not a lot of games developers and publisher delve into such things that often, but to immerse myself into it was a really amazing experience.

i'd love to see it from the South Korean point of view about ghost play and magic play.
