They probably have mermaids though, most cultures touching water do in some capacity.
That said I know some people hate supernatural elements, so keeping it on a slider or making it a thing only introduced when the player interacts with it would be a good thing to implement.
People with bad karma are not granted eternal rest or reincarnation, and roam the world as evil spirits until their karma is good enough. As an Asian game, it's about Buddhism or so, and these creatures are an integral part of it.
In fact, it would be really interesting to see how the developers present this. Especially if it really is something from Korean mythology which is significantly different from the mythology of other nations.
By the way, this is a great idea. Or the ability to disable these functions in the game settings somehow.
Course those are all Japanese games, and some of them are references to their folklore, like kappas and the toilet hand being yokai I believe, but based on a search it appears Korea, along with China and Vietnam, has yokai as well.
So I wouldn't be surprised if they put more of it in.
However, only spirits/ghost are currently known, as an integral part of the karma system.
when they come. This will probably happen much later in development. as version 0.1
I played a game called Amazing Cultivation Sim and it was awesome, not sure how accurate it is to Chinese mythos, but based on the media I’ve been reading it would appear there are at least reoccurring ideas like enlightenment of humans, objects, and animals, as well as what appears to be an ascension to god hood by way of trials. Was really eccentric in the best way, very different from what I was used to seeing by way of Greek, Roman, and Norse mythos.
Course that game was a half genre away by being similar to Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress, so I don’t expect Inzoi to suddenly include random rpg elements like that, but a bit of randomness inspired by some Korean stories would be welcomed.
i'd love to see it from the South Korean point of view about ghost play and magic play.
