Obvious review manipulation

Why do companies do this? Every time I see a flood of fake reviews on a title it just turns me off of it entirely.

The speculation of all new accounts are fake without real solid proof is a shat poor fishing post.

Bots have been around for awhile now, influencers increased since 2020. Pinpointing the fake from the real on the Steam game page is a tiring task, so is evaluating every single Steam profile.

Coming in the hubs to get few genuine real time replies of game feedback is more productive. Heck even just OP testing the game out for 2hrs to see if they vibe with it would have been more beneficial for them.

Those profiles OP linked earlier negate the speculation argument.

All in all, OP pointed to something malicious going on and now people are whining about it. I understand OP's argument much more than the ire it drew.

Not throwing accusations yet, but it does sound like the typical fanboy toxicity whenever anyone sheds light on a negative aspect of their object of worship.

Again, what is the end goal for a hub that has mostly people engaging on how much they enjoy the game help? I’ve already paid for the game and I like it, I shared that with the OP. They keep just wanting to yell it to the void, screams heard, now what?

It’s their thread post wording that felt like bait and I’m not the only one who fell for it. It’s cool (I guess?) they let us know about these accounts but let’s be real there are also bots that exist in other games too. If I never gave games a demo/2hr try, I’d have nothing to entertain me or waste my money on especially since I love gaming on Steam.

I’m a zoi-addict I admit it. I’m enjoying my zoi’s shenanigans and my red karma city so far. I haven’t even touched build mode yet and just used the preset for my create a zoi. So far zoi life’s been good.

I'm not expecting you to develop a system for steam reviews lol, Just being in support of one if one is presented/tested.... as you are now aware (maybe?) this problem exists

I mean if Steam hasn’t figured out a system, surely you can conjure up some robust reliable one for them though, no? I’ve always known the problem existed, did our convos in the beginning escape your brain?

Until then screaming into a non-void full of gamers enjoying a game will not help you. I mean I thought I did try to help but apparently you weren’t even here looking for our feedback. Just because I didn’t shower you with praises for your Steam profile investigation, doesn’t mean I’m turning a blind eye to it either. I’ve ignored games that I felt were heavily biased. I take my money back from Steam when I don’t enjoy the 2hr demo. In the end it’s my decision what and how I spend my money on for small entertainment.

I really want to create another zoi and spend more time in create a zoi, but I was so excited to see the game world-it did not disappoint!

I also enjoyed listening to the ingame stereo music (man what a vibe they are) and watching my zoi’s idol dance practice, and sing when they get higher tier lvls. The mirror reflections aren’t apparently even polished yet but dang they look amazing to me, especially reflections off glass tables! I can go on but won’t, it’s a breath of fresh air experience so far.

This game really sparked a lot of joy for me again, that many games I purchased this year didn’t. So for that I’m happy. I didn’t waste time reading/watching so many conflicting reviews which can drive me to not buy a title. I just dove in and tested it for myself instead, I love it and I’m here to support it! I even upgraded my specs right after that’s how happy it made me. Yeah I’m a zoi-fan, I’m not going to deny it

It would be so cool to have better in game journal, little bits of stories of zoi that write to themselves each day about everything and slowly develop into traits etc. I miss how sim 3 does those traits.

We all know why companies do this... its effective. This is not a real question, or one you tried to answer.

This is a statement, which is true, It turns me off of buying things, steam, amazon, any storefront.

Its a problem, and I'm very sorry this problem extended to a game you enjoy and I'm also sorry you now being aware of this as a problem is upsetting.

I get escapism, it is also my drug of choice. I understand the this may feel like it removes some shine or something to that effect, but it shouldn't at all for you. You are enjoying the game, you purchased the game prior this conversation or being aware of the potential it was manipulated.... so even if you took a hard, unmoving stance in my position. It would be entirely independent of your purchase, and that should be entirely guilt free.

Like blaming a lover for having lovers before you were even in their world... its just not reasonable

The game world industry is not perfect. The real world is not perfect. Tons of evil happens right under our noses happen every day. We all try to get by so do dev teams and their creative teams etc. Our system is clearly broken inside and out.

What would you have us do, not buy the game? A little too late, some of us are out of our return windows.

If your sole purpose was to spread awareness, great. Some of your arguments just felt belittling the community who are into this game for buying into the manipulation tactics, and that made me feel like shat. That’s it. I have no other rebuttals to give you. You succeeded in making a fan feel guilt, good job. I’m companies perfect consumer target.

Hopefully you grow your own crops, build your own appliances and don’t rely on everyday companies that have one way another used deceitful tactics to sell their brands. Hope you avoid Amazon like a virus.

Once you can tell me how to help with whatever your thread movement is, there is nothing more I can help you with except btch and moan to Valve about it, that’s the void to scream at.

I do like the text replies, hope we can freely text zoi npc later down the line. My smart zoi gifted her love interest a dirty sock which I thought was his pet. It didn’t state it in the journal so it was a confusing situation that made me turn to the community hub for answers lol.

Sorry to read your game freezes, that’s why I had to up my specs a bit too after release day. I was really scared of the money put into a game in early access but I know it’ll benefit me later on with other games that I’m waiting to go on sale. Hope they can optimize more later down the line too even if they have to disable smart zoi, which needs a ton of work still imho.
