it would take up more resources, especially CPU resources, it is an active simulation and everything needs to be ran in the world, the longer it goes on for the more resources are going to be used to simulate the city and each person in each household across that city.

i wouldn't expect anything less than a resource hog. though yes, i'm sure the developers will eventually optimise the game but that probably won't happen until the very end of EA before release.

The sims is a 10 year old game. Just because your computer can handle games from a decade ago, doesn't mean you'll be able to run new stuff.

And unfortunately, you're right, this game is not made for low end PCs. Games have to move on. At a certain point, you need to update your gear, or be happy playing stuff from 10 years ago.

Cyberpunk 2077 would be a better comparison than GTA V or RDR2, considering it's a lot newer and after the 2.0 update, it's very CPU and GPU heavy in dense population or driving at high speeds which makes it use more resources.

Def is not a gaming rig heck I'm even a launch model which isn't as fast as newer ones..
