I am not a coder or anything, but I am pretty sure a lot of the game would need reworking in order to get any multiplayer aspects functional as it has been designed as a SP game. You can't just change it virtually overnight into a different game. Hopefully co-op gets added further into EA, but let the devs open up early access first...
If they do a 2-4 player co-op later, they will let you know. The focus is basics and depth or core stuff first.
Great. I'm sure the Devs will take your specific opinion under advisement.
I also wouldn't want some stranger to be able to interact with my game whenever they want. Multiplayer is not a bad thing in itself. But especially in a game like this, there should at least be some kind of private server so that you only have people you know and can trust. Especially because the game will also be played by many younger people. I would be in favour of an optional multiplayer that you have to turn on yourself.
