To the people asking why the game is no longer working...

The character studio using unreal engine 5 is a demo that was only for ZOI creations, not game-play. It initially released on August 20th. This demo was meant to last around five days, overall ending on August 26th 04:00 am (UTC). If you are in a different time zone, like (CDT) for example, then the demo ended on August 25, 11:00 pm. Opening the game now will lead to the "No licensing" Prompt.

so there is no work around? i literally downloaded it a few hours ago and didn't even have the chance to open it :(

I don't believe so, many people were having issues trying to open the game while the demo was still available. It being operational while offline is highly unlikely. Unfortunately, all we can do is wait for the full release.

I think the they are making the demo unavailable because of Canvas. Canvas is an app in the game that lets users post their zoi's for the rest of the world to see. We were already experiencing issues with canvas in the 6 day demo release. Apparently the creators had to remove the search button as well. Without game-play and Canvas to save your Zoi, it kind of renders CAZ(Create a Zoi) useless.
