How will the Live Link facial feature work?
When it's restricted to Apple IOS?
Will there be an alternative for Android or PC?

I find that weird too. Why cant it just access the camera on the same computer thats running the game. Kinda suspect ngl. Maybe it has to use iphones infrared tech on their front cam, thats the only reason I can think

I hope at some point there's alternatives for PC/Android.

Live Link Face uses the infrared sensor of IPhones. Android phones don't have those sensors which are better than cameras for depth tracking.

I'm aware of that, but I'm wondering if there will be any kind of alternative to this for Android and PC

Face-scanning technology should not be restricted to iPhones, as it has been successfully implemented in other games using a standard webcam. While I can't recall the exact titles, I have personally used this feature in a game before. Limiting it to iPhones adds unnecessary complexity and feels both restrictive and disappointing.

Examples:
Below is a list of games and platforms available on Windows PC (using a webcam) and Android that let you scan your face during avatar creation. These titles integrate face scanning into the player creation process, so your in-game character can closely resemble you:

• NBA 2K Series
Recent entries in the NBA 2K franchise include a face-scanning feature that allows you to use a PC webcam or an Android companion app to capture your likeness when creating your MyPlayer avatar.

• FIFA Series
Certain editions of FIFA offer an option to scan your face, enabling you to generate a custom player avatar that mirrors your real-life features. This feature is accessible on PC versions and through Android companion applications.

• Madden NFL Series
Some recent Madden titles also incorporate face-scanning technology for creating a personalized MyPlayer. The process typically involves using a webcam or an Android app to capture your facial features for a more authentic in-game representation.

• ZEPETO
A social virtual world that focuses on avatar creation, ZEPETO uses your Android device’s camera to scan your face and build a detailed 3D character. Although it leans toward social interaction, its robust avatar creation process is a prime example of face scanning in action.

• Ready Player Me
While not a traditional game by itself, this platform lets you create a fully customizable 3D avatar by scanning your face using either a PC webcam or an Android phone. The avatar you create can then be imported into various supported games, offering a seamless way to see yourself in multiple virtual worlds.

I just found something on github not sure if it works if anyone try's it let me know its called justdark / UE_Android_LiveLink found on google but can not test it atm. Edit never mind I think I will just try using PureRef instead and the character editor. Unless they release something for Android.
