Yeah kinda agree with OP. Getting really tired of companies constantly forcing their own accounts and linking them with A or B accounts. Not just in gaming.

Also never heard of Krafton so I have zero idea if I should or shouldn't consider them trustworthy with any of my information.

Steam is just a platform for games where people publish their games on, you will have to use a third party account if they want to, all of you are just trolls.

Correct, never heard of this Krafton. I see they are behind pub g and some other game. Never played them and makes me doubt this game more. But sure, everyone who doesn't bend over knowing everything about some random company is a 'troll'.

I'm more just tired of these companies demanding accounts, but not staying accountable when their terrible security is inevitably broken and the information stolen. If you require an account, and information is stolen, it should be an automatic million USD per user award to every victim. Because companies will never learn otherwise.

You did actually HAVE to create an account on Windows, it's just a local account if your not tied to Microsoft. An Account is just a way of saying "I have a user" or "I am a user"; it's not the political statement dummies make it out to be.

Also Fun Fact: Steam automatically handles your account creation for most 3rd Party Games; which is why you never have to login to an alternate launcher; that being said, it's a security risk to actually connect accounts at that level.

No those garbage games require their own launcher that's a completely different ball game
As for OP making an account versus downloading and maintaining a third-party launcher 🤔 I think I'm fine with making an account and ditching EA completely

If you know how to use the steam console you can roll back the demo build to a week old one, then once you load the game, close the prompt 4 times and it'll stay closed. Although this won't work for the full game, you can at least try the demo to see if you'd like it before making an account.

It seems a bit acquisitive of your data for just a demo - not only are you forced to create an account, you're also forced to link it to your Steam account, which I'd guess is at least partly about data-harvesting given all the T&Cs you have to sign along the way.

(+ also no way to quit the demo without signing up.. bit of a dark pattern even if just poor design )

Anyway, turns out easy enough to unlink if you're not planning to play:

then, Personal info -> Delete your KRAFTON ID
