Can we use the character creator for art similar to DesignDoll?

As a professional illustrator who has issues with anatomy and perspective DesignDoll has been a godsent for me. I have little to no interest in Sims style games but the character creator from what I've seen is very robust and I feel it could be used as a tool all on its own to help us artists. If we could pose the characters and export .obj files of the models for use in Blender or 3DS Max it would be great or have a tool where we could make multiple characters posable within the creator for just these purposes.
I think DesignDoll is phenomenal but another accessible tool for creating characters to serve as competition would be healthy for the growth of DesignDoll and this potential editor too.
