It wasn't until the 1970s that the terms began to be differentiated.
In other languages these difference doesn't even exist, then the english word "gender" is taken to differentiate between biological gender (sex) and psychosocial gender (gender).
since the devs are not english natives, and surely use some kind of translation tool, they named it "gender" in the game, because thats the translation from other languages for biological sexes.
It's a game. A simulation. It can break the laws of reality and can do what it wants. If you want reality, try the real world. If you want escape from reality, try a game.
I'm left-handed. Judging from the demos I watched, there are no left-handed toons in the game. If all the toons all right-handed, that's not how reality works. That's the thing with simulating reality, you can't get every minute detail.
People are born with diseases, physical disabilities, and a full spectrum of examples. There are no blind toons, no deaf toons, no toons in wheelchairs, from what I've seen. Have you considered that? It appears you focused only on your egocentric viewpoint.
♥♥♥♥ all y'all seriously.
And to OP, I too was a bit disappointed at this. Say what you will about EA and the sims but they've really come a long way in terms of inclusiveness in the character creation.
People went overboard with it and now everyone is annoyed by it so we now are back to just male and female sexes.
It's a shame, because fundamentally WOKE is about everybody being equal, with the same rights and protections. That's it. The WOKE ideal isn't complicated, people are.
I agree, people went overboard with it. Extremism is counter-productive. The problem is, extremists are to self-serving to see that.
I happen to believe in equal rights for all, but I don't see myself as WOKE (I abhor labels) because while I agree with the fundamental ideal, I don't agree with ingratiating myself onto others.
Square enix also used this method with the dragon quest 3 remake release.
its just a corporate processor to cover their A$$ from possible drama from the shameless westren gaming journalists & twitter ppl.
...You don't know anything about the 80s. There was an absolute truck load of social progressive momentum back then and unfortunately, many times was met with severe violent push back.
I shouldn't fall for the bait, but both of you are being extremely bad faith actors. Gender is not "politics and ideology"; it's a social construct. And one can't be absent of "politics and ideology". There's no such thing as an apolitical designation.
*sigh* To anyone who this whole thread might actually be bothered by these two clowns. They're not dangerous people. They're grumpy people. You don't need their approval and they dont have any power to prevent you from being your authentic self.
Hope yall have a good day. It's pretty out. Maybe go on a picnic with some friends.
