same issue here, Mac OS Mojave.. I thought it was an issue on my end, but seems to be development end.. great.. :/

Game broke after update.
Receiving error message: "An error occurred while updating Tropico 5 (missing executable) :

note: running on Linux (SAME ISSUE)

Just bought the game today and of course I cant even play it. getting same error as everyone else. First game I've tried to play with steam not looking very good for this service. Is there any way to download the previous version?

I can't play the game after the update

They added beta branch with previous version working on Linux and (no way to check) on Mac.

We are very sorry for the issue with the missing binaries for the Linux and Mac Version. We are working hard on it and we will provide a fix or a workaround as soon as possible.

The game also broke here after 1.11 update on Ubuntu 18.04. However, when gong back to version 1.10 in the beta section, it works again.
