I think jail staff arrests people not the police, so make sure your prison is staffed

I too was wondering how the new supermax prison works. I have a fully staffed prison, several fully staffed police stations around the island, the prison has both updates, and I have manually ordered a couple dozen rebels and crime lords to be arrested. After three hours I have yet to have the first prisoner in my prison.
Should the secret police be activated? Or does the prison not work in story mode? Anything else I am missing?

Same here- fully staffed.

If the prison is too far, it will take a long time. They don't use any cars to arrest people, so...

So the prison has to be in the center of town? WTF!?!?!

Prisons are ineffective right now, this needs to be fixed next patch.
Capitan Maximum Jan 15, 2015 @ 8:01am
Why are they ineffective for you?

Because even when fully staffed, it seems it doesnt auto arrest criminals. And arresting people and bringing them to prison is taking too long. It should be more effective

"It seems" is a bit vague. Does your prison arrest criminals or not? Do you have the required institutions to identify citizen roles?
Vertibird Jan 15, 2015 @ 1:50pm
Dont know, I order to arrest many people, years passed and my prison rarely had prisoners. Dont know exactly if they are autoarrested ones or the ones I ordered to be arrested. I'll test when I have time

OMG, guy, drop the attitude? In our games the prisons remain without criminals in them. There are no arrests going on in my city. AND when I click on a person to arrest them, after three years... they still roam the streets: gang lords, criminals, anyone... and yes I ID them- they have spinning placards above their heads.

Clear enough?

"It seems" is used by we who do not have access to the code because we don't "know" exactly what is going on... you do. RIght?

Sorry if I offended you. All I meant to ask was if in this particular case there are no arrests made whatsoever or just slowly. Any kind of reproduction information we can gather will help tremendously in resolving the issue if it turns out to be a bug. Can you send a savegame to support@kalypsomedia.com for investigation?

I think with me it is just slow, but it still happens. So thats good. :)
Dracon Jan 19, 2015 @ 7:47am
There are prisons now? Or do you mean the asylum?
