The pre-purchase of the digital version on STEAM is also going to start in a few hours. You can choose between the Standard Edition and the Steam Special Edition, which includes a new ‘Isla de Vapor’ map and a costume for your avatar as well as the digital “Guide through Tropico Island” (PDF file).
Upon pre-ordering you will receive a 10% discount. Plus, you’ll get additional goodies, based on a tier-system depending on the overall number of STEAM pre-orders.
A little more detail from Steam would have been nice. It would also be nice to know what is the difference between the "packs".
I really do hope they updated the store page so I can be sure wether or not those are the only features of the special edition.
Wow it's almost like they're a business.
I love how everyone seems to hate socialism and communism yet every other post on these forums is "They just want your money".
No duh. That's how CAPITALISM works. If you didn't want this, you should have supported the Soviet Union during the Cold War. So we would all be living under golorious communism state.
Seriously people, you people do realize these things cost money to make right? That these people have lives and families they need to support, and they kind of need to eat? A game like this can easily cost over a million to produce.
Yeah that's right. Selling 30000 copies is breaking EVEN, and that's ignoring what Steam takes, what the publisher takes and so on. Marketing, blah, blah, blah.
My point is. These things cost money, and no amount of whining on a forum is going to change that. For crying out loud, the 4 pack is 30 bucks a copy. That's half of what most new releases go for.
Good insparational speech but umm the only reason the special edition details aren't posted is because of Easter. They even stated so on their facebook, once they will have their full staff back they will correct it.
They probably should posted that on steam, but hey there's a legit reason now! Yay!
Now one of us should probably find that post and post it to the discussion board for other people to see.
In consistency with the OP, the text was about missing such an essential information as what you get for your money, not that they want money in the first place.
The Easters could not work as an excuse. It just shows how incompetent/ignorant/bad planning/non-customer oriented the company is that they fail to provide such a basic thing like why they want your money and what they offer you for them. Basically, the information should be prepared in advance and should occured on the page not later than the Purchase buttons.
