Tried to demolish the dock and rebuild, tried the same with the vehicle factory, had 10 teamster offices, nothing worked. I also had an electronics factory that seemed to have the bauxite delivered once every blue moon, but in general every time I clicked my dock there was just 9000 bauxite lying there and being sold off to the next ship that came through because the teamsters never picked it up to transport to the factories that needed it.
1) Teamsters actually do what they are supposed to (so your economy actually works)
2) Rebels don't attack you at random times for no reason whatsoever.
3) Most of your Tropicans will actually go live in a house that is free (as opposed to just making shacks all over).
4) You can actually imprison people, and offer Rebels amnesty (which actually works in Tropico 4).
Just to name a few.
So in order, and credit to grey buddist for his contributions here, I think the following things need to be corrected before anything else:
1) Fix the trade routes so they last the full term of the trade offer and while you are at it, for accuracy, the import export prices should pulled from the trade routes and not from the almanac
2) Fix the teamsters already, I know you said you fixed it but you didn't. Put someone who knows what they are doing on it this time, the receptionist isn't a programer, even if she is hot.
3) Rebels need a reason to rebel. Right now they attack and rise up for no reason at all. Name one country in history that has a 70, 80,or 90% approval rating from the population and has rebels. It doesn't happen in real life and it should happen in tropico either. Rebels should rise up when there are serious problems not when happiness is high in all areas and approval ratings are 80%.
4) Fix the shack problem. when there is available housing they can afford tropicans should move into it rather than making shacks. This thing about then having to have a house right next to their workplace is ridiculous. I don't live near my work but you don't see me building a shack on the front lawn.
5) Bring back the prisions so criminals and rebels can be arrested. Banishing or even killing crime lords should not cause civil unrest it should reduce it. Do tropicans really want their crime lords left alone to continue their crime spree on tropico? Also, it would be nice if rebel amnisty actually worked.
Did you people actually think this game though before you released it? It sure doesn't show it.
I kind of agree with all this.
The receptionist part made me laugh to tears.
Cheers.
3) Some countries do enjoy a large approval rating and have rebels because there is always some person who thinks they can run the place better and promises people things and agitates them over every thing wrong with the nation.
But since this is not a mechanic in game it's not an excuse.
