Edict issue

I can't cancel the Organic campaign edict. I get a message stating that it can't be canceled due to external reasons. Is there any way to stop this?

You probably have taken a mission to enact the edict. That locks the edict for 2 years.

i dont even no why organic campaign is even in this game. organic food is only a real problem in the united states. the rest of the world has real food standards.

Because maybe some people want to set food standards for Tropico? Its kinda obvious that Tropico doesnt care so much about it. As long as its there and they can get it from a grocer they dont care for the source.

have the same issue, according to the mission it should last for 2 years, it's now like 4 and I still can't cancel that godamn edict :(

Yes, I have the same issue concerning the "Prohibition" edict. I activated as a mission option and now, I cannot cancel it since 5 years in the game... :/
Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

There's certain edicts that annihilate potential production in favor of the "environment." The benefits are superficial and the negatives are easily felt.
