It's not DX11 compliant
1) Open DXDiag
2) DO NOT look at the "DirectX Version" this only tells you if the OS supports it. Not if your video card does.
3) Go to the Display tab
4) Look in the upper right for "DDI Version"
5) Unless this says "11" you are NOT DirectX11 compliant on the video card
Confusing? Blame Microsoft.
Update your driver, your card is more than sufficient.
Im using the latest Beta-Driver (337.81) from N-Vidia.
The min requirements state DX11 driver with DX10 hardware. It wasnt until launch it was changed to "some DX10 but not all".
Well unless you are running windows XP, youve had DX11 installed as part of windows updates since around 2009. Problem is most cards out there are DX10.
This is the first game this has been a problem for and its far from the most graphics intensive.
I can literally play any other game on the market right now including the new Thief and various other games which are far more graphics intensive; and all of them have a DX10 card support.
There are literally 2 games in the world right now which are DX11 "only"; one is Watch Dogs and the other is Tropico 5.
I wouldn't ask for DX9 support, but DX10 is not unreasonable.
Most of us were blind sided by this. I actually did check the requirements and I meet them. Theif has higher system requirements than Trop5 and plays just fine on my system as do many other games. But now at launch Trop5 only supports certain cards?
Well, I'm not paying $400 to upgrade my graphics cards for 1 game (because to get better cards than what I'm currently running, that's the cheapest I can find).
Every game listed as coming out for the rest of the year still has DX10 support.
Kalypso's position on this is ludicrous. No ones asking for DX9 support; but every other game on the market still has DX10 support. (aside from Watch Dogs; which is being given away FREE with a DX11 video card purchase)
Ive researched dozens of other high profile games on the market released in the last 6 months and every single one of them is more compatible than Trop5, and most are more graphicly intense with higher system requirements.
There is no excuse on the developers part aside from pure incompotence.
I want a refund, it's that simple.
Your System needs to meet the minimum system requirements.
Your graphic card has to support Direct X 11.
To play Tropico 5 you need at least a AMD Radeon HD 4000, nVidia Geforce 400 or a Intel HD 4000 or higher to run this game properly.
