Maybe they have but Tropico 5 doesnt need DX11. The graphics arent any better than Tropico 4. My point is if I can run games like Battlefield 4 or Crysis 1 or 2 why cant I run Tropico 5. Its obviously no where near any of the listed games or hundreds of other games that are way more graphically intensive than tropico will ever be and they still run on DX10.
LOL
Same here. Why don´t they support DirectX10. Seems like they had only directx11 beta testers -.-
I understand theres a time to move on. But to make a game have a requirement that isnt needed is just ignorant. For instance Crysis 3.. it requires DX11... And you can obviously see the graphical advantage. I completely understand that. I'll play it when I upgrade. But tropico is not getting any advantages... maybe it runs a little smoother or something.. Dont know havent got to play it yet. But they should have and still should implement support for DX10 or even DX9. Kind of like Sid Meiers Civ V it lets you choose which one you want to roll with. Kalypso would sell more in the long run. The people that dont want to upgrade would still buy the game because they wouldnt have to upgrade and the people that dont need to upgrade would get the advantage of DX11 (whatever that advantage is in T5).
Saying tropico 5 needs DX11 to run is like saying a washing machine will only work with one kind of soap. This new washing machine only works with Gain. It would work fine with Tide brand soap but theres a little sensor inside that wont let it run because its not Gain brand.
Actually from what I've read the beta only required DX9... Yeah I'm just as confused as you are right now.
They already did - about a million times at this point. The answer was a loud and resounding "No - We do not plan to make it backwards compatible"
DirectX is more than just "graphics" - The languages are different and there's been a lot of changes in the 8 years it's been since DX10 came out. DX11 has been out for almost six years at this point.
>Go start menu and run dxcpl.exe
>Click on Edit List
>Click on ... button and locate Tropico5Steam.exe on your hard drive, in my case it was:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Tropico 5\Tropico5Steam.exe
>Click on Add, the path will appear on list below, click OK
>Now on the 1st window of dxcpl.exe, at the bottom check Force WARP
>Set Feature Level Limit drop down box to 11_1
>Click Apply, click OK
>Run Tropico 5
I could run the game with this and it was working good enough for me, hope it helps.
