I didn't think it could improve that much over Tropico 4, but the quality of these tracks is top notch and all the ones I've heard so far are utterly wonderful!

Yeah, music in general is a very subjective matter. As for number, I'm gonna have to check that out, out of interest. Also, I *think* that they play in a randomised order, as I'm sure I heard one earlier that I hadn't heard before...

Edit: Okay, just had a 'look' and there are 18 tracks. That's 5 more than Tropico 4's 13 tracks. Very nice!

i agree with you all.
but, it could be better if they add more tracks.
when i play like 6 hours or so, i got bored with the music playing over and over.

18 tracks x avg. 3m30sec = 63mins, or 1h3m.

So, in 6 hours, you'll hear each song 6 times. Good, if it's the track you like, bad if it ain't.

Edit: Just checked and the whole playlist, 18 tracks, is 1h02m48s long. Can't believe I was so close in my estimation!?

If you were to combine the soundtracks of all of the games, you end up with about 5½ hours worth of soundtrack. Food for thought.

I tried combining the Tropico 3 and 4 tracks in Tropico 4; it didn't work. I think there's a playlist hidden somewhere. I know that someone created a 'mod manager' for Tropico 4 and you could add both sets of music that way. I don't want to start messing with Tropico 5 at the moment, not just yet, anyway...

On the topic of the music, I found a funny coincidence. give a listen to Chica Bonita V2 track, to the trumpets at 1:05 mark. Now, give a listen to a track from Automation game, "1941 (The Mask)", to the trumpets at 2:06 mark. I don't think the Tropico composer has actually heard the Automation soundtrack, but it's funny nonetheless.

I HATED the music without vocal tracks. vocal tracks were an important part of tropico games and it's like something is missing without it. It's boring and generic for me.
