How do you actually beat rebels?
Rebels seem literally invincible in this game, even when I out number them heavily, its honestly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ infuriating. How can you actually beat them, because I end up spending the vast majority of my money building bases and barracks only to have my soliders wander around mindlessly and get shot to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ and do nothing about it. Its not even like you can prevent these rebellions either, it seems no matter how high my approval is I just can even avoid it. I just can't play this game because I always lose in the Great War period because of braindead soldiers.

I want to add that I actually like this game alot, but its literally unplayable with the way the rebels and soldiers work, at least the way I experienced it.

You can if you choose democracy under Political Rights options in your constitution.

Go with Professional Army, pay them well, you rarely need more than 3-4 squads plus a half-dozen guard towers scattered around for even a medium island. Military drills every few years. Don't provoke them, if you start banishing or killing their leaders it just strengthens them. You want their squads to show as a fist (unarmed) rather than a rifle (armed).

You can't ever beat them, they're rebels. Keep them marginalized and they're no more than an annoyance every few years. If you can forge an alliance with a superpower they even chip in with a couple squads during difficult times.

Yeah the units in the game definitely need better erm pathing/tactics its quite annoying when your units ignore the enemy an run right through them mean while the enemy is constantly atacking them an they die...because apparently they aren't smart enough to engage the enemies that are attacking them.

it'd be nice if they fought more realistically. -.- also sucks that the tanks have no collision detection so they phase through each other all the time.

I'd love to watch battle unfold in a more realistic manner with units trying to out flank one another when there 'generals' an stuff are a bit better.

I use conscript army and have Theocracy instead of Democracy, and i dont really have issuess with rebels.
Have some towers near their favourite places, so your army has some time to move.

I think its funny how I had two army bases and one mechized garrision my palace gaurds and my rangers (all upgraded btw) yet 3-4 rebel squads beat me easily

I just tried that, and still got a rebellion, I even had turned it to easier settings, and of course I still couldn't beat the rebellion.

Rebels... are they not like a faction? from what T4 was like... idk how the population dynamics even play out

what i do is to place 8 towers in a side of the palace, and other 8 towers in the other side, and i place all the military buildings in the same side of the map.
When rebels attack, they will be attacked by towers, and in 20 seconds the military units will attack all together so they die easily.
