Game getting stale? I highly recmmend some of these mods

for those wishing there were better in-game console commands to tweak your game, or just basic enhancements that probably should have been in there, I can't praise DarthPresidente's mods enough.

install the mod loader. Read and Follow the instructions to install and then turn it on (don't skip this part). Unzip each downloaded mod into the tropico 5 folder. Open a new world n single player sandbox and enjoy!

As with any mods, you probably want to be frugal to maintain some balance, but here are some things you can do:

- Always wondered what a dynasty of accountant-types would be like but don't want to grind out something you may not even enjoy when finished? Quickly build a full dynasty with the Dynasty name mod. Pair it with the cheater's tower and max them out. You'll also want the cheater's tower to allow a quick end to the game so your new Dynasty will be ready for use. You like your agent but the skin is fugly? retire them and use this to replace them (may take a little while). Tons of possibilities.

- Do you miss the ability to grow a forest like you could in T4? The magic forest brings this back. Use sparingly or saturate the island. Works very well with the random map generator to "touch up" the flora without requiring a tedious process of creating a custom map when all you want to do is play.

- Wouldn' it be nice if you could upgrade all farms at once? Electrify all your houses with one click? Upgrade Tower, Mass Upgrade, Eectrify All aare mods to add this much needed upgrade.

- It's the cold war, shouldn't you be selling Coke to the CIA? Drug Trade adds several new resources and products, but with a serious change in your diplomatic profile. Noriega couldn't handle it, can you?

- Already mentioned is the Cheater's Tower, which allows you basically an unlimited Swiss bank (careful here, maxing your family removes any reason to have a swiss bank so may remove some challenge depending on your style). You can also add money to your treasury, which is useful when you want to build free-form but you eventually want to see if your metropolis can sustain itself; something you can't do with unlimited money. Or you may just want an extra $10k to get out of the hole without starting over or reloading. But these cheats aren't the beauty of the mod; you can also call out every sort of insurgeny or disaster in the game. Rebel uprising coupled with a tornado and a tsunami, followed up with a coup. Can your island survive? Mine seldom do. But I no longer have to wait years to see the apocolypse...

There are a lot more, these are some of my favorites. They have rejuvenated this game for me. In fact they have given me an incentive to attempt writing a mod or two. If I get bored, which will not be soon.

I still make mods in private. The company doesn't mind modding but does not provide straightforward support. IMO the least they could do is to provide a place to upload in steam workshop...

Cheater's tower sounds interesting. Gonna check it out...
