Ya! The military can rebel against you. I had 60 soldiers and plenty of military buildings and was wondering why I was having so many rebels, maybe five attacks a year, then I noticed the rebels were spawning from a couple of barracks to destroy my ranches and plantations. I couldn't raise my standing with them through edicts [I'd played that card] and I couldn't give them the Contitution they wanted because I was just keeping the Communist balanced between indiffernt and rebellion, and the religious were one step from open rebellion too. Of course it might have something to do with the fact that I do as little as possible now to appease the bas*ards. I have way too much fun finding out how much I can get away with. To me that's worth a Palace or two in the grand scheme of keeping El Presidente a dictator; not some pwned fool thrown to the gnashing maw of the prepetually needy that he has become with T5. :-)
This guide has some useful tips on how to keep the militarists (and other factions) happy.
