How does one place Tidal Power Plants
I've tried to put these down several times, but it always give me the "Must be placed on shore." message. I've tried placing it just off the water, well off the water, partially in the water, and completely in the water, all to no avail. If anyone knows the secret, please share.

It is intended to be placed just off the water, though I've had the same problem you encountered: there are long and peaceful shorelines that look perfectly fine, but no matter how hard I try (I tried every single possible positions on the grid) I cannot place them.

I think a better feature for Tropico 6 is to display all buildable location for a building (especially this kind of shoreline building). If grid system is to be preserved it should not be too taxing on the computing power, especially since this kind of information can be calculated once and saved for later use.

I was annoyed by this too, until I looked it up. Apparently, you're supposed to place it like this: http://tropico.wikia.com/wiki/Tidal_Power_Plant

Make sure the 3 turbines are facing into the ocean and *away* from land, you may need to turn the building (scroll wheel on PC) to get it right.
