in other words 2 geothermal plants take up the same space as 1 nuke plant and provide 3 times the energy. plus they're emissions can be completely removed with the filters.
on top of that they don't require a road network and they're smaller than any other energy producer. you also never have to fear of running out of energy.
yes the volcano is a nice feature but so long as you build close to the volcano you're still getting a bonus. the geothermal plant improves the closer it is but you don't need to build directly on top of it.
a geothermal plant beside a volcano can provide 3 times the energy of 1 nuclear plant.
a geothermal plant without a volcano can provide on par the same energy as nuclear.
You do still get the bonus for volcano proximity, it's just not explicitly displayed. It's just the location bonus increases.
