Go into the alamac and click on the happiness tab and see what is making people unhappy and fix that. For example, if religion has a low happiness value, then you need to build more chuches near where people live.

Look at the happiness tab in your ledger. Also under politics, each faction has its own wants. Try to figure out what they need. Entertainment buildings will help some people and actually make some money. Churches will make your religious folk happier. Better housing may help. A tenament can alleviate homelessness for your poorest folks while mansions make your wealthy happier. Especially if they are in beautified areas. High wages and keeping everyone employed is also good for happiness.

Okay, if you can afford it raise the wages of every worker you can but then raise the rent of every house to the max thus improving housing quality while increasing job quality. They then work harder which makes you more money to spend on things like education or healthcare.
