hi, so i have been trying out the "random" runs and sometimes a few of the boxes will say "[number] of these boxes contain a mimic" and like what do they exactly mean by these? like the same color? the same description? ive had a puzzle where one of the boxes said "2 of these boxes contain a mimic" but there was only one mimic? help???

"2 of these boxes contain a mimic" means that exactly two boxes are mimics. If there really are only two mimics, this one is telling the truth. Otherwise, this is a mimic.
