is there actual romance in these games

do units breed like in fire emblem? i kinda liked that about fire emblem fates/awakening, been looking to scratch that itch for a while now

No. There is one sidequest which involves romance and that's about it.

There are timeskips which involve passage of generation and using new units, but they're iust new units of the same class, there is no mechanic involving 2 characters getting together and getting children with different stats based on parents or anything about it.

"Romancing" here is referring to like, medieval chivalric romances, not romantic relationships.
