Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven

Platinum and Expert run completed! :) :)
After about 50 hours from the 130 of the first run, I completed the second on Expert.. the last bosses were pretty tough.
I beat the final boss but there were only two left alive (The Empress and the blacksmith in the team), it was close but I did it.
The Dread Queen was difficult, it knocked out the blacksmith and the Ninja once each, but I managed to keep everyone alive in the end and win with a combined attack of 3.

(Enemy lv 32)

For both bosses I used the Charming Drive formation (my favorite in the game honestly) and central tank the blacksmith (Smith + Auto parry, Tough Hide and Poker Face) and two/three dps and two healers.

Other than that, it was fun and engaging to play. If there are no new games, I might try the Romancing difficulty, but I doubt I'll have the time. I'll definitely be very busy editing the videos I've made so far while playing for my YouTube channel. We'll see. :)

Funnily enough I found the seven easier on expert than I did on classic since I ended up nuking them with my united attack. How did romancing difficulty feel? Was it similar to how it felt at the start of expert?

Thanks :)
I didn't try Romancing yet, the beginning of Expert was easy because the characters did a lot of damage even with basic attacks.

The only fights where I was KO'd or killed by all my members were Dantarg and Wagnas in the dream fight. The first one caught me off guard in the turn order and oneshotted almost everyone with his headbutt and against the latter his Light Wall decimated me in the first turn. I should have raised Light Wall in the first round too but I hadn't thought of it.
Or dragons that oneshot a target with Trample, until I glimmed evasion.

Apart from that the rest was ok, not so difficult.

Congrats, sounds like you got a lot material for your youtube channel. If you do give Romancing a glance you'll get a bit of a different experience, as the challenge really amps up (the endgame especially can be brutal). I would actually recommend giving the opening of Romancing a look, just to see how different it plays. Either way, hope you enjoyed your time with it!

Thanks you, I do my best.. although at the moment I'm not well equipped (suitable equipment and place) for a commentary so it's just gameplay. :)

I'll think about it, in the Expert run I reached max HP and MP, greatsword and axe for the empress.. I don't know if I should farm to improve her magic stats. The other characters are around 1700 / 480 at the moment.

Khazan the first berserker comes out in March and I think I'll try it, if I finish editing in time maybe I'll start the Romancing difficulty too.

lol yeah Dantarg's headbutt really messed me up
Wagnas took a couple of tries but not as many as Dantarg, that Light Wall was a bit of a pain in the butt.

For some reason I just never glimmered trample on my expert run and I am still incredibly annoyed by that... thank God for the auto-revive ability and spell.

Yeah I got lucky to glimmer Trample vs the Dark Dragon in the Nival Ruins with my blacksmith (on his last turn). On Expert the Fire Dragon oneshotted a full 1654 HP Ninja (she had 70 def) for a damage shown at around 5300+. :)
