Guide?

Is anybody going to work on a 100% guide or something? I don't like walking in completely blind, and given the nature of this game and the fact that there's new content...

I don't see the point of a guide for this game. It kind of ruins most of why the game has been made in the first place.

Sure noone can tell you how to have fun but the game is litteraly built around the idea of exploring and discovering.

Also I'm pretty sure a lot of the missable are not missable anymore. A lot of things you can't do in your current time you can do later even if it makes 0 sense in terms of time (it's litterally the same NPC hundreds of years later still waiting with their quest).

It's basically like wanting to follow a guide to play a roguelite game in my opinion.

Kinda justified why some people would want a guide given the extreme difficulty and confusing nature of the SaGa series.

i would want a unpdated guide for the new game. after the initial plays. ive went through the game twice now and wished there was a actual guide so i can see where i can find armor pieces and weapons and all that stuff.
by any chance if anyone knows, where do i find the magician boots again?

You kinda only want to start grinding after you captured 6 or so territories so you'll be having at least 30k income per battle. If you do the Mu migration quest early you can hit Gelid ruins early which has good XP per battle (1.4k xp minimum) and some decent equipment (plus the only heal-all fusion spell if you beat the giant).


So far the only missables are stuff like:
- not opening up Messina Mine when doing initial Corsair quest by talking to the ship captain (ask to see the captain) which has a magic fusion book
- Mermaid quest chain being done before finishing off Savannah quest and generally being forced to time-skip and miss out on dancer class/formation.
- Dark Magic quest by allowing the Sorcerer to get the book before you (locks you out of Salamander class if you want Dark Magic and also possibilty of not even getting the book)
- Stumbling upon Amazon Queen /w Male Emperor and thus not getting Amazon Class (make sure to read the signs posted!)
- Messing up Martial Artist quest
- Not helping Thieves Guild (the initial all or nothing decision)
- Not building Leon Bridge quick enough and thus not getting Coppelia

Honestly, that's kind of part of the fun. There were a few confusing systematic things I needed a guide for in the original game, and I kept reading the guide even after my issue was clarified.

Regret. The game is way more fun when the outcomes of quests surprise you. It makes it feel awesome as hell when you get something right, and that rightness sticks around for good.

As for those systematic issues, the game details them with in-game tutorials this time around.

The game doesn't punish for grinding. If you mean time skip, it's not a punishment. You need them to trigger new missions. Just don't kill the fifth hero too soon because you won't be able to timeskip after that.

The game doesn't punish for grinding. If you mean time skip, it's not a punishment. You need them to trigger new missions. Just don't kill the fifth hero too soon because you won't be able to timeskip after that.

It actually kind of does punish you for grinding by increasing the battle rank, which makes the enemies stronger and next to impossible to beat if you're not prepared properly.

I'm actually very slowly working on one. Gonna take a long time to complete it though, I'm still working on the maps, then I'll have to do a NG+ playthrough to improve the maps, then I will have to do a NG playthrough to figure out what would be an optimal routing while having maps available and not needing to fight everything.

And then, I can start writing one, so... Gonna take some months, probably.
