New to the series. Could you please help me with a few questions?

Hi, everyone! I played the demo and loved it, now I'm convinced to buy the full game. I have a few questions about this game and the series in general:

1. I'm itching to play this game, but do I need to play any other entry before this one? Or is it like Final Fantasy, in which stories aren't connected?

2. Is the battle/gameplay of past entries similar to the one in this game? (especially concerning making it visible the weaknesses and resists of enemies once you've discovered them)

3. I see there's Romancing SaGa 2 (the original one). Do I have to buy that one too to enjoy the full story or is Revenge of the Seven a full remaster of that one?

4. I see the pre-order gives 2 items, one of them gives more TP per battle, but I wouldn't want that. Would such bonus item be an accessory, so I can choose not to use its benefits?
