- The Romance of the Three Kingdoms games that have officer play, kinda. Also I think the Uncharted Waters games have a mechanics where you expand your sphere of influence, although you don't conquer anyone per se?
- Dragon Force games might apply here, definitely more strategy games mechanically but they *feel* like more typical JRPGs.
- Summoner 2 has like... some degree of kingdom management. I don't *think* you take over territory in it though but there's something RS2-ish in how it feels.
- It's more of a Pikmin-like, but Little King's Story is good.
- For an extra deep cut, try Lords of Midnight!
- I think some of Cryo's games like Lost Eden and the original Dune have some mix of managerial/conquest and adventure gaming thing going on.
- Ore no Shikabane is very heavy on the generational successors thing. The Vita sequel got localized.
- Most of the Lunatic Dawn games let you have kids and play as them eventually. No territory conquering per se but you can influence the spread of elemental affinity and ideology in some of them too.
- I think one of the Wizardry games (7?) has this mechanic where different factions take over different areas although I might be misremembering that and it also might just be some background thing that's going on and not like, a territory conquering thing you influence.
- I feel like one of the later Might and Magic games had some kind of territory conquering and lite kingdom management thing going on but that might've just been a framing narrative thing and not really a gameplay mechanic.
I'll try it out after finishing this.
Almost everything in your list is either old or not translated to English but thank you nonetheless. There's a lot of hudden gems there if they decided to remake them. I've already played ROTK officer plays and my fave is ROTK X. You could insert inindo the way of the ninja on your list.
Maybe its more about the changing exploration and getting stronger by composing your team little by little....lol
Well anyway....I recommand you The Last Remnant, they share a lot of common point with RS2 in term of gameplay, strategy and team bulding....
Its also a very unique fun game with pretty good idea and visuals in my opinion....you can always try ans see if you dont know about it....
I've already played last remnant and finished the white conqueror or whoever that is on the hardest without refining equipment which was my mistake. I was thinking if replaying it when i have the time.
