It's not a big deal tbh, but you still should be careful to not overgrind (grinding to some extent is fine, and so is clearing every monster of every dungeon you find), because the enemies might outscale your gear, which would put you in trouble.
So uhn... Yeah, sure, there are grinding spots, and grinding is fine... Just don't go overboard with it.
Yes, the amount of years passed by a timeskip is directly connected to your generational battle count... That's not really a problem though. Very few things care about the number of years passed, and the few that do don't care about it in a bad way, so... Getting a big skip might actually unlock some events earlier.
Pretty much the only event I can think of that can have negative side effects from getting big timeskips is Sunken Ship... But even then, you need 19 Hiraga Generations to have passed since Garon's Coup to have a bad effect... And one Hiraga Generation is 32 years, and with a timeskip cap of 255 years... You need two capped timeskips and then a 3rd one to get a negative effect from that.
