[Stuck] How do you actually get stronger?
By stronger I mean stronger than the enemies.

I'm playing on Normal and I can't beat Gelid Ruin (the slidey icey temple). Every single enemy hit close to 200 damage, some AoE, inflict status ailment and they're generally very tanky. My gears, heals and skills cant keep up, I've lost 2 Emperors there already.

I heard that enemies dont ever get weaker since they level up with your battle count. I've been completely ignoring the first Canal mission and explored South instead, so maybe I should go to Canal or Toba instead. But would enemies in Canal or Toba be as strong as in Gelid Ruins? Or are enemy levels the same across the world?

Right now, I have no way to get better gear.

Is there a limit to the number of generation skip? like, can I trigger 15 generation skips, or is it fixed that after 4-5 times, I'd play as final emperor and can't skip anymore?

What's the downside in triggering generation skips anyway? some quests will be gone?
If your generational battle count is 80+, you're guaranteed a timeskip when you get a blackscreen and have 8+ Event Points (this was changed from the original, where it was a 240+ battle count), so... I'd say it's very unlikely to work.

Not to mention it would be a pain to manipulate your battle count to avoid the timeskip to get 14 EP specifically... But it's doable in theory.

There is no limit to the number of generation skips, other than the limit of events that the game has in total.

A handful of quests change with generation skips, and some quests are automatically failed if you started them, didn't finish, then get a generation skip.

Some quests like Mermaid Quest can become unavailable if you wait too long to do them. While other quests might be triggered after X generations since you did the previous quest in the quest chain.

But for the most part... Timeskips aren't a big deal and you shouldn't worry much about them.

Ok I'll just do all quests and spam timeskip like crazy, then.
But how do I know which quest/area lead to Seven Heroes so I can avoid getting the final emperor before doing all quest/region

Kzinssie: Somon

Dantarg: Nazelle; Eastern Subterrane and Child and Mu Calf

Bokhohn: Steppes; On the Landship

Rocbouquet: Salamat; in Eurunip

Noel: Melu; in the Wandering Lake

Wagnas: Yauda; Castle Hakuro

Subier: South Longit; Sunken Ship and then a Frozen Sea that is not the Frozen Sea with the Gelid Ruins

Thanks.

I've just beaten Rockbucket. the game's becoming very very very easy for some reason, nothing can touch me, They give very low EXP that I started to skip fights. Maybe this is because I explored Southern region first (they gave me thousands of EXP). My party HP is 500++ while Enemy level is currently 9. maybe it's time to up to Classic.

I'm currently invading the Canal Fortess (the supposed to be very first mission)

Bokhohn, Noel, Wagnas, Subier left. Missions to fight Wagnas (Japan castle) and Noel (desert) are on the map already
in which order should I do this? I read that depending on who's the last Hero, I'd miss some contents. and i's also possible to miss content if I delay fighting the heroes too long?

Leave Subier for last, but do the Sunken Ship quest as soon as it appears.

Don't kill the Narwhal. Use the Seabreeze Shell before going after it.

Do that and you'll lose out on nothing by the time you get to the final dungeon.

The other good option for doing this kind of thing would be Dantarg, but you already beat him.

If you already defeated the Narwhal... Then you should wait until Final Emperor. Something will happen in Final Emperor generation that will give you a clue of what's the alternative path (I don't wanna spoil it, so I'm not saying it in detail)... Explore the new dungeon available to Final Emperor as soon as that generation starts, but don't defeat its boss... That should help you not miss out on any content either.

ooh boy, you're not going to like classic mode

I switched to classic and now the difficulty is kinda similar to when I made the thread. I think I struggled on Normal before, because I went the "wrong" way, went south instead of immediately doing the Canal mission, so I got an abnormal enemy scaling.

I think I'm close to finalize my retinue line up, but I'm not so sure

Dancer
Bow/Dagger, probably my best unit. can do literally everything, even multi magic, but I like using Bow more than Magic since it deals more damage, so I want another magic-specialized retinue.

Imperial Blacksmith
Axe/Mace, super good tank and damage dealer. can use decent Magic as well.

Ninja
Greatsword/Martial Arts. a stronger version of Levante Guard, very strong damage dealer, but kinda "basic". I think she's easily replacable if I decided to use GS/Martial Arts for my final emperor

Crusader (F)
Multi-elemental defensive mage. it's nice being multi-element, but the fire power isn't there at all, and defensively, every other character has some kind of healing spells anyway... my previous Court Mage (F) got much much higher firepower with Flame Whip.

Maybe I'll replace Ninja > Imperial Guard; and Crusader > Strategist; then turn Final Emperor into a martial artist + whichever weapon I'm missing when I got them later.

Freelance Mage or Court Mage?
Ive been using Freelance and give her... a Lance when I want to save BP, since I don't have other lance user. I also don't have a class that uses Axe.
I’d rather use the strategist myself.

I also run laps through the Nival Ruins since they give the most tech points. I also found out my HP can’t go past 2000 and my BP can’t go past 500.
