Good on you. One of the worst mistakes I have seen devs make towards their community is a lack of transparency. I appreciate you keeping us in the loop and know this delay will make all the difference. Besides, we wouldn't want you forced to serve something you see as "undercooked". Looking forward to future dev logs and an incredible final product.

Agreed, no one literally does that anymore.

Unlike other devs/publishers this company is actually letting non-employees try the game out and give honest, possibly regrettable critiques.

Armed with this possibility, it only makes sense to wait to release a game when you are absolutely certain it will garner "mostly positives".

When's the actual release date then? It was supposed to be the first half of 2024 but we're now in the first half of 2025 and we've seen/heard nothing
