Everyone says it's the most versatile bike to use though, so I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it. I still haven't unlocked the Rabbit yet.
The Viper just feels looser than the Phoenix, especially on slopes. I used to be able to hold a solid accelerated climb in Evo, using the Phoenix and now the Viper's back tire often comes off when I do the exact same thing.
I still need to play the extreme tracks though.
The feeling you get from it when you do jump properly in Viper is awesome... and then you face plant two seconds later. I love that.
