Monarchy setting: What does it do?
Hey all!

I just picked this game up on sale and have been playing around with it. I was wondering if anyone could explain what the Monarchy setting does in practice. It doesn't seem to be explained anywhere, even in the game's manual.

Thanks in advance!

The Monarchy setting seems to have one single gameplay effect: It allows the "Royal Scandal" dilemma.
It does very little. In reality, it should allow the possibility to lose the game through "dismissal": where your approval rating is so catastrophically low that the monarch is forced to dismiss you from office. It has happened here in Australia before in 1975.

Should be another policy you can cancel/introduce.

Tried out a Monarchy slider some time ago, but scrapped it.

There could be an interesting choice between authorized sub-national monarchs (South Africa), figurehead monarch (Scandinavia), limited constitutional power (UK) or absolute power (Saudi Arabia).
