How to run the game.
For those who can't run the game after the installation:
1. Right click on the game in your library - choose "Run 3D Setup".
2. In 3D Setup make it like that:
Available Graphics Interfaces - DirectX7
Available Modes - 800 x 600 x 16
Available 3D Sound Interfaces - Miles Fast 2D Positional Audio, and hit "OK".
3. Again - Right click on the game in your library and choose now "configure nGlide" (wait till it downloads and run it again).
4. In nGlide menu make it look like that:
Screen resolution - 1024 x 768
Aspect ratio - 4 : 3
Refresh rate - By app (Default)
Vertical synchronization - On (Default)
Gamma correction - 1.0 (Default)
3Dfx logo splash screen - On (Default), hit "Apply" and "Exit"
5. Now try to run the game.

Worked for me on Win 7x64.

p.s. You are free to test the resolutions other than 1024 x 768 and 16:9 aspect ratio ;-)

You did it step by step ?
Can it be that your graphic card is Integrated "Intel HD *something*" ?

I tried the above but game still won't run for me. Soooooo frustrating--I was really looking forward to playing this again. I have Win 7 64 and a good AMD video card...

What it shows you when you run 3D Setup ?
Is there any DirectX versions at all ? Or just blank windows ?
What "but game still won't run for me" means ? What happens when you trying to run it ?
Have you tryed to redownload \ to check the cache ?
Try to update your video card drivers maby..
Play with the 3D Setup \ nGlide settings - maby one of combinations will work for you.

Doesn't work for me either. DirectX 7 shows up, but when I try to run the game nothing happens.

I just got it to run by double clicking on the wiz8.exe instead of trying to run it through Steam.

I've tried all of the graphics interfaces (my list shows Glide2x, DX7, DX6, OpenGL and Software(MMX). I've also tried running the exe in the install directory. I've also tried changing the compatibility settings.
My graphics card is a GeForce GTX 560. Any ideas?

For those of you who try to run the game and nothing happens: I have my steam installed on my D: drive. When I copied the whole Wizardy directory to just the root on C:, Then ran wiz.exe, It runs perfectly.

it did work on my Win7 x64, too.
Hopefully, i want to run the game through the steam client.
But it's OK for now. Thank you.
