Not sure the faster animation mod can be copied over top it but you could also use cheat engine to speed up the game engine (Speed Hack) as much as you like and its not really cheating just taking tedium out of the large battles.
I occasionally do that to make the Rapax Courtyard and Rapax Prince battles if I accidentally aggro large numbers of units. Here's an example where MDP is superior to melee. Its a long slog otherwise.

Is @mlspirit online to update us on this mod?
Edit: the fan patch works fine for me so far with expanded mod. just make sure to get the latest version and that you install it correctly. you will have to adjust some options in the wiz8.ini for expanded to work with it.
CFInjector=0
ModCFInjectorLUA=1 <----- this is what you're looking for in the wiz8.ini.
Thanks I needed that last time I tried the mod I had been using CFinjector
Did you try the HQ textures?
I'd like use the ones that Korki used in her Magda mod.
UPDATE:
Still too buggy unfortunately for me. Its too much time investment for it to randomly to crash.
The first encounter in Arnika.
Haven't had a chance to buy a single book or restock stink bombs/cherry bombs[ibb.co]
Just a *tiny* bit overturned I would say.
That Corsair is level 12 and I'm level 7 on all but the Bishop who's 6
IMHO i feel requiring so much AOE just to survive in the first three areas is really annoying.
My first party was mostly hybrids because of how brutal the random encounters and mini bosses are I thought more melee would help but its actually the opposite.
My second party consists of mostly specialists casters and a bard what is known as MDP and its going much better. It is still too much of a slog as I have had to supplement the damage with artifacts/bombs since mana tends to run out long before this armies of enemies die. When you do get to Arnika I feel like you have to exploit the patrols to get a few levels.
If the author sees this, Fighters/Rogues/ and Hybrids do not get AOE until level 8 at the earliest so what do you expect them to do? Please scale down the early game until the AOE spells/gagets/instruments are readily available.

There are some minor spoilers in the thread. In general though, people seem to like Lords and it looks like a lot of people take dual Bishop parties. Ninjas, Rogues, and Fighters look to be popular as PCs as well and several people took Vi and Sparkle.
I have not played the mod yet but dual Bishop+bard+gad+2 of anything is my favorite comp in vanilla. I'll be running something like that in Expanded.
edit - incidentally, DSM is the same as Expanded--you meet level 10 Treasure Hunters with strong AOE when you are around level 7. It does make the game challenging, and you really do need to use every trick in the book to progress. I personally don't mind the challenge.
Routinely Level 12 Corsair bandits in Arnika spawn
A mysterious level 26 monster on the entrance to Bluff (trying to sneak in to open up portal back to Arnika and get low level books from Sadok)
A Lord can hold the line and has lots of hps but has no aoe.
Faeries are fairly strong in the mod. Probably should take at least one.
Vi and Myles are my tank with guardian angels but boy do those shields go down quick.
As usual at low level Crock doesn't have any decent books so was going to head back to Trynton to level up a little.
A mod breaking bug for me was a quick trip into the swamp to get the fake art from Savant.
Any of you that know what normally happens when you walk into the black pits.
Bug error [ibb.co]
I tried reloading to much earlier save but still get this error.
UPDATE: Oddly enough I was able to work around the bug only by removing 1.28 and going back to 1.24 and updating the injector batch file.
echo off
cls
CFInjector.exe "Yourpath\Wiz8.exe" "Yourpath\Wiz8.exe"
pause
UPDATE2: Sadly only a little bit later in encounter with the Ant Queen I get another one of these errors.
Does anyone know other than this mod have they had any issues with 1.28?
i might be going back to classic just because random crashes are no fun.
Also, how up to date is your computer hardware? I personally only had a few CTDs, most of them were while caused by loading the game (and even then, it was mostly in the Mt. Gigas Water Caves), but my computer specs are relatively good for the game (i7-6700, GTX 1660 Ti). I still did get some stuttering, especially when entering a new area, but they did not result in a crash.
