Fan Patch 1.28 is supported by CFagent+LUA similar to GoG, steam, which makes it possible to play on Russian mods, for example from Gray Tiefing.
Similarly, in fan patch 1.28, the original “new models” bug was fixed (in the Expanded mod, a glitch occurred in some locations or during battle). Now the game doesn't crash!

For Buki on 3 CDs
1) Consistently install the patch from Buka: Wizardry8_BUKA_v1.24RU.exe.
2)Fan patch 1.28. Unpack into the game directory, replacing the corresponding files.

Recommendations:

6.6) Fixed a bug in "White Wolf's Mod 1.0 (Beta) 12/31/2010": new spell 132 "Annihilation" - causes an imbalance of damage. Therefore, the character does not have the spell.
6.7) Fixed a bug in "White Wolf's Mod 10/15/2012": new spells 132 "Annihilation" and 139 "Malady", 142 "Maelstrom" - cause an imbalance of damage. Therefore, the character does not have the spell.

6.1) Bugs fixed in "DoddTheSlayer v2.40" 1) The Bishop did not have spells 105 "Night Terrors", 107 "Magnify Gravity", 108 - "Seraph's Decree". 2) When using the new spell 127 "Anti-Magic" the game crashed. The spell has been removed until the author of Fashion fixes the bug. 3) Psionic when using spell 149 "Alicia Bard" - was without result. The spell is now gone until the author of the mod adjusts the "Has a projectile" or "Spell cloning" checkbox.
6.2) Fixed a bug in "DoddTheSlayer 1.2 Normal" - when using the new spell 127 "Anti-Magic" it crashes, now it is impossible to use the spell until the author of the mod fixes the bug.
6.3) Fixed a bug in "Deathstalkers v1.6" - when using the new spell 127 "Anti-Magic" it crashes, now it is impossible to use the spell until the author of the mod fixes the bug.
6.4) Fixed a bug in "Deathstalkers v3.0" and "DeathStalker Rus v.3.0" - spell 115 "Restore Magic" - breaks the balance. Spell 126 "Heatwave" was unsuccessful and has now been removed.
6.5) Fixed a bug in "Reforged v 1.0 + 1.1+ 1.1 (rus)": there was a useless spell 149 "Priests Blessing" - now removed.

in "Deathstalkers v1.5" - the spell 138 "Not working", 139 "Shard Burst", 121 "Dagger Scatter", 122 "Poison Darts" works.
in "Deathstalkers v1.6" - gives the character to have 9 new spells only in fan patch 1.28.
in "Deathstalkers v3.0" - gives the character to have 18 new spells only in fan patch 1.28.
in "Ultimate Mod v9.94 SV2" - gives the character to have 8 new spells only in fan patch 1.28.

Amazing! Thanks for the update.

Feature request: can you add hotkey navigation to the item casting menu? E.g. being able to cast thrown items, artifacts, bard/gadget instruments without mouse presses?

And what do you mean by Christian Coder support? We can now play CC's mod without the 1.24 exe in his mod?

Yes, that's what I mean. It's currently possible to cast some magic spells with zero inputs from the mouse--pure casting only using the keyboard.

Is it possible to do that for items, gadgets, as well? Currently you have to use the mouse to select an item and then another mouse click to target it (e.g. Piercing Pipes). You don't have to do the same for Shrill Sound.

@Greatmage--I just upgraded to the latest build, but "unlock races" is grayed out. How do I turn that option on?

I am also getting a bug, when I try to load my game it says "please insert CD #3"

edit - and the auto-updater is really nice. Much more convenient to upgrade to the latest build.

provided you complete the game and defeat the "Dark Savant", you need to restart the game, appear in the list of 5 races and the “Additional acceleration for battle speed” checkbox from “General 5/5” will appear.

Yes, that is the case.

It doesn't even need to be a legit clear save. You can make a regular save named Ending and it'll still count.

Also a warning, the new races' stats are very wack and imbalanced and don't line up with the stats of existing RPCs.

2)Added hotkeys: SHIFT+Character number in the “Equipment Panel” - for example, “Mana Stone” is the character’s goal. However, it crashes once. Replay no bug found.

1) Added hotkeys: "ENTER" - in the "Equipment Panel" for selecting an item item. The target spell is “Radius” and “Sector”.
2)Added hotkeys: "Up and Down" arrow in the "Equipment Panel", item selected up or down.
3)Added hotkeys: SHIFT+ arrow "Up and Down" in the "Equipment Panel", end up or down element item.
4)Added hotkeys: CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER in the "Equipment Panel" - moving an item from the equipment in the mouse. And if without the “Equipment Panel”, then throw the mouse object on the ground.

1) Added hotkeys: during battle, in the list of the target spell "Sector" the order is only "ENTER" - like a left mouse click.
2) Added hotkeys: during battle, in the list of the spell target “Radius” put the staff only “ENTER” - like clicking the left mouse. If there is an order, then “ENTER”.
3) Change the logic hotkey "ESC", in the spell panel, the already selected spell target radius. The panel was closed and the radius of the staff was removed. And if there is no staff radius, then close the panels.

Have you noticed that the fields change "Bonus Points" and match the shape of the creature's design to the races. There was a discussion on "postcount.net" for a long time.

Honestly I recoil from creating my own portraits. Their are many beautiful new animated portraits included with 1.28, and they should hold me another 20 years or so. :steamhappy:

So... I've been checking out the unlocked races... some of which seem rather useless but, I'm still curious how they might pan out. I'm looking at those Androids thinking, why such a high intelligence for something that cannot use any kind of magic... except maybe wands / scrolls with high enough Artifact? But, they seem like they might make great Rogues and possibly Bard or Gadgeteer. Anyone been trying them out and care to share their experience yet?

I read on the Postcount forums that Androids are immune to sleep, poison, nausea, disease and maybe fear. For a class that isn't going to use magic anyway, it seems like a no-brainer to me to waste some points in intelligence to grab all those immunities. The mental resistance combined with an Amulet of Healing means that Androids don't need Soul Shield either.

And intelligence isn't a complete waste, as it governs almost every skill on the left side of the character sheet and also has a small direct impact on chance to hit.
