I expect they take the first Mook on your list. But did they think what to do with a solo Mook? Great question!

There have to be soloist on here who have played a solo Mook before, but that's not me.

Followup since I had an old save at a convenient point for this: The Mook will invite your character, but they won't actually leave. This seems to bug out the Mook at the embassy, who will insist that your friend is okay and will return soon despite never having left your party. Even if you resurrect the dead members, your character won't leave.
