What's your favorite weapon? What do you think is the best weapon in the game?

Wanted to get a discussion going about items! Would love to hear what people like and why. Feel free to specify any criteria you like for your own definition of "best"--whether it's the weapon you see having the most impact in your party, the weapon you think is the most powerful, or any other reason you like.

My favorite weapon is probably the Tripleshot Crossbow. With animation mods it's just fun to use, feels like playing an FPS.

I think the best weapon overall is the Zatoichi Bo--great damage, great +s, great procs, extended range, guaranteed drop, and not cursed. Even if I don't have a Samurai or a Monk, RFS can always make good use of it.

Highest potential impact for me has to be the Mindblast Rod, just because it trivializes such a huge chunk of the game.

I didn’t used to appreciate this item, but now it’s one of my favs! Cloak of perception. +20 to sen sounds pretty bad at first glance… but for a character with at least 70 sen that’s a free +2 to hit! The ac bonus is good too of course.

Amulet of Healing and Cloak of Many Colors share great benefits and usability by everyone.

EDIT: I can't read, apparently. My favorite weapon is Staff of Doom--I'd say it gets used even more often than Bloodlust.

The characters that wield them are transformed into player controlled monsters (until the enemy turncoats them)

Zergs since you are familiar with triplexbow do you have full range party that makes use of it?
Maybe I should change my current siege Arabists to triplexbows for the peak

I never use more than 3 Tripleshot X-bows. Quarrels don't regenerate fast enough at vendors to support more than 3. There's also the issue of finding enough Light Crossbows to merge, and since only a couple of vendors carry them, it's unlikely that I'll find more than 9 in a playthrough without doing a lot of vendor resting.

For ranged weapons, I use a mix. I roughly want to be using up ammo in the proportion that I find it. Typically 2 crossbows, Omnigun, 2 bows, and 3 slings among 8 party members. There's also the issue that the upper-end arrows and slings (viper/mystic/medusa/impaling) are more plentiful than the top-end quarrels (Lightning, which are also very expensive).

I could change my dual wield fighter to strength misc magic equipment to get 120 strength base and equip strong bow to him.
Then two triple xbows to flank fighters
my psionics are currently using wrist rockets.

I did find two fronter phasers from the ghosts but casters don't get any modern weapon skill.

Unlike most Cloaks Sam can wear it, and most needs it! Perfect fit.

Was trying to wean my boys off the game a little then Cloak drops in Armory and sucks us back in.

Forgot we were discussing fav weapons…. Not items lol. My favs are vampire chain and ivory blade. Vamp chain is just a fun weapon with unique mechanics which you can use extended one handed with a shield!
Ivory blade is just a solid one handed weapon with solid damage and is guaranteed. Plus free ac never hurts.

Looks like Madras can make double crossbows 35 without any training but triple is going to take some grinding 70.

By far the fastest way to grind Engineering: spam Hypnotic Lure on the Arnika Rogues. Ideally with a stamina regen item on Madras, or a Stamina caster in the party.

Believe it or not, I got 6 stilettos from Crock, 1 per visit. So I equipped my bard and gadgie with 2 each. By the time we hit AP they had 100 Str, Dex and Sen. They each killed someone every round and one of them killed 4 in one round. That 10% instant kill was great.
