you forgot mauler + nunchaku ..

fastest power spike is Martial Arts
endgame power probably mauler + nunchaku
extended range Zatoichi Bo

all work great in the end

I stick with the bonus on Monks, hand and foot all the way.

Love the martial arts!! Kungfu fighting!

Martial Arts has saved my party a number of times thanks to the KO%. Plus, it's just kinda hilarious to imagine.

Yeah seriously, beating chunks off of a golem with your bloody fists! Not to mention you get extra attacks faster than anything other than a gadgeteer!

No WAY would I ever stick my foot in a slime. These Monks are just OOZING with serenity.

Same here - if I choose a Monk in my playthroughs, it's usually for RP purposes, and in those cases, hands and feet just make sense, and are still effective through the end of the game if developed properly.

Agree with martial arts. Should say, however, it's KO and critical strike insta kill far less effective on Expert difficult

Badly Cane of Corpus is Short Range so I have Monk in the Back Range and not the Ninja Faerie.
While I like both staff and Martial Artist monks, I have to give a slight preference to the staff option. Both because staff is one of my favorite weapons personally and because it gives the Monk an extended range. Combined with their Stealth skill, the staff allows for greater placement options for them in the party.

Both options are fun though! :)

Thanks.

It really bugs me how they made so many great options buuut. You would only know those options if you got lucky or replayed several times.

Yup. Knowledge of what you're likely to find is very useful in choosing skill-focus. But thankfully average equipment is good enough, even on Expert.
