Speed Options / "non-idle" mode
I am enjoying Paragon Pioneers 2 even though I normally don't like idle/clickers and prefer games to be more "in-depth".

Would it be possible to add an option to enable speed selection (x1 / x2 / x4 / x8)? People who prefer the idle/clicker approach can continue to use it (even keep it as default), but it would be a nice be able to not wait on the research.

This would be wonderful.

I've a non-idle mode on my suggestion list for a while, but it seems that the demand is not very high as most players play it on mobile. I tested a bit around a non-idle mode, but that would need a more closer look at the balancing to let it feel good. If more people are requesting it, I'll reconsider it :)
For now I can only suggest to use some cheat engine, I've heard from a player who sped up the game by x200, probably the cheat engine can also speed it up less. (the game is made with Unity, so probably there are a lot cheat engines out there, which can manipulate the time)

Suggesting the people who paid for the game to use Cheat Engine is kind of crap man.

Cheat Engine doesn't seem to effect any of the timers. So this is not a solution for users asking for non idle options. I do understand that so far it seems to just be two people asking for this.

Makes sense if most of the playerbase is on mobile. The idle mode is probably a good fit for mobile.

I would agree if this was one of those free games on mobile with tons of in app purchases. But it's not. The idle thing seems like a punishment sometimes.

Figure adding more voices to this couldn't hurt. For context, I have this game on both steam and mobile, and sure, for playing on my iPad and stuff, the current system is fine, but I fully support adding a speed option in Steam. It would scratch a different itch and just improve the game experience for pc users.

I'm sorry if my answer felt a bit harsh, but playing a game in a way it isn't designed for, is a thing cheats can provide easily. You've paid for an idle game and I try to deliver the best I can do in that regard and want to keep a good overall quality. Just speeding up the game would have a huge impact on the balancing and perceived difficulty, so I would need to look closer at that feature to ensure that the game is still fun. I'll probably could add a time cheat if more people are voting for it, so no one using it would expect everything is still perfectly balanced.

With the latest update 1.0.92 there is a new time cheat in the game for those who are interested. If you name your first island in the list as a famous time traveler, there might something appear in the world view :)

Way to be vague. Tried Doctor Who and The Doctor. Nothing.

  • hint 1: seen in several movies and later an animated series
  • hint 2: the year 1955
  • hint 3: if you were this traveler, by now, you would have a bully saying, "Hello, ____!"
  • hint 4: from Back to the Future
  • answer: Marty McFly

Thanks. The Timelord from Gallifrey is more famous to me. I never would have thought of Marty McFly.

Anyway this is great. But it really should just be an option. What happens if I change the name back does the speed options go away? Yeah the speed option goes away if you change the name. Just make this an option.

The Marty mcfly thing is better then nothing, it seems like x64 turns min into seconds, nice little Easter egg. Maybe for balancing you could add the speed up as a research or maybe a rush option at the cost of extra resources. Just food for thought awesome game as is, I playd the 1st one and fell for it had to get the second and im even more impressed 😎

As a mobile purchaser of the game I can say that I'd also be interested in a non-idle mode which is not a (minor) speedup locked behind tech :)

Having to wait hours for a battle to finish just feels punishing and I don't really like how it makes me have to think about the game to not miss timings, because they're so long.

I'll still have to wait for my units to be produced, true, and in a way that is also a waiting timer, but one I can have agency on (focus more on military units for example). But I would like to just login once every few days and play out the things I've build up (I invest in warehouse/garrison space as you might expect :))

Anyway, tl:dr; I enjoy your game on mobile, but would probably enjoy it more if I could have some sort of sped up setting I could check which would cut battle/exploration times in significantly smaller portions :)

Edit: Didn't actually even know this was for pc, would probably have bought it here because I enjoy having the ability to use cheat engine on my games for exactly the reasons above :) Found this because I was looking for optimal unit builds for the chiefs :P
