Transferring Characters from Wizardry 6

Its been many years since I played this game and back then there was a disk to copy characters from Wizardry 6 and move them over into 7. How does this work on the Steam versions of the game?

Open Wiz 7, open Wiz 6>BANE in another window, copy the save, [FILENAME].BCF into DSAVANT. (hopefully you weren't planning to play the Gold version?)

So the DOS games just toss the saves into their main directory by default. Right click on Wizardry 6 in Steam and hit Open Local Files in the menu. Should find saves like you named them in the BANE folder, ending in .BCF by default. Move the one you want to import into the Wizardry 7 folder instead. DSAVANT for DOS version. In the main menu for Wizardry 7 hit IMPORT (BANE) and type in the proper file name with the .BCF and you should be good to go. Gold just uses basic Windows file management so you can just click over to your BANE folder and open the .BCF save file from the Bane install folder directly, just make sure you click from Wizardry Savegame to All Files or just files tagged .SGM will show.
