Wizardry 6: Bane of the Cosmic Forge

Wizardry 6: Bane of the Cosmic Forge

Did Wizardy 6 Bane of the Cosmic Forge nudity catch anyone off guard?
I started replaying Wizardy 6 right now. Enjoying the game, but I am still blown away by how much nudity in the older Wizardry games they got away with. I don't recall Wizardry being controversial growing up. Wizardry 6 is still only Rated T on most sites, far as I know. I do not remember all the nudity as a kid.(Maybe because i played the SNES port more than the PC original?) Topless Mermaids, tribal women and female demons were not even hidden Easter eggs, but regular enemies. Keep in mind i am not complaining, just surprised by how much older CRPGs got away in the 80s and 90s. I feel the same way about the Ultima series.

PC gaming was so niche at the time that nobody even cared. Maybe if Wizardry VI had been a huge hit on domestic consoles it could have ignited some controversy but yeah computers were still basically seen as the boring things adults used for business at the time. I remember when my parents bought me Escape From Hell at Electronics Boutique the clerk looked at the back of the box and saw the topless woman and showed it to my mother like "you sure you are all right with your young son seeing this???"

(Mom, if you were wondering, was the rare "who gives a ♥♥♥♥ about nudity, it is violence that bothers me" American parent, so clearly she did not notice the horrific descriptions of violence that also appeared in-game)
