RNG based character creation.

This is starting to become a huge annoyance for me. I'm spending more time in the character creator than the actual game because I can't get the class that I want due to seemingly luck based class selection. If there is a patch for this game that makes this perticular mechanic less egregious, please let me know, because I really don't want to give up on this game.

Use Google to find the 'cosmic forge editor' by Mad God. If you run it, you can apply a patch that will greatly increase the chance of getting a good roll.

So I downloaded CosmicForge_Unicode.rar and installed the file under BANE in the Wiz 6. I still don't know if I did it right.

I've been wondering if I have it working or not too. I have it unpacked in a folder. WHen I open the program it always ask me to point it to the install directory which I do. Then that's all that occurs. Nothing else I can do. Each time I open the program the installation directory is blank as if the program is not "remembering" it. I'm on windows 7 btw. The program gives me no way to edit things. I do seem to be getting higher bonus rolls a little more often than before though.

It's definitely not working. You should see a menu and an option to apply the patch

One thing too, as per the instructions from Mad God, do not install the patch into the game directory, instead create a different folder somewhere else in your computer, and link the game to it from the setup screen.

Also, you can't edit your charatures, only items, monsters locations and loot.

Welcome to old school gameing. Just think how it feels when all the good RPGs used this method. I have spent days, yes days, creating characters and when you finally get the stats you want it feels really great.
