I'm in the same boat. Laptop handles games that require more graphics and storage, yet this is the one that gives me trouble. Seemed like my type of game, too T_T

Obviously the dev doesn’t even care to answer any of us as this thread has been live for a while now. SHAME.

In my case ONLY POOLS NOT WORK, SUBURBIA WORK. The Pools, black screen any time.
This issue is due to some features of UE5 not working properly on APU's with integrated graphics (all gaming laptops, NUC box PC's, ASUS ROG ALLY, even the STEAM DECK). However other Poolrooms type games like BACKROOMS: LOST TAPE also use UE5 and do not have this same issue. Which would mean that this issue can be resolved within UE5 to make it accessible to these systems. However this is completely up to the DEV to care to fix in this case. And if the goal of the game is to make money (which the game is for sale so it obviously is) there should really be no excuse to fix it. More people get to play it and the DEV gets more money.

We understand that some players are experiencing issues due to the game's reliance on real-time ray tracing. However, the lighting system in Dreampools was chosen for artistic reasons, and unfortunately, it is not feasible to achieve the same visual fidelity using alternative methods. While Eternal Suburbia does use ray tracing in combination with ambient lighting, that approach does not translate well to Dreampools, which heavily relies on UE5’s Lumen for its atmosphere and dynamic reflections.

We set the minimum specs based on what is required to deliver the intended experience, and while we truly regret that not everyone can run the game, the vast majority of Steam users meet these requirements. This is supported by the Steam Hardware Survey, which shows that most players have compatible hardware.

We appreciate the feedback and understand the frustration, but changing the lighting system would compromise the game's artistic vision and require significant reworking. Thank you for your understanding.
