Same. Played for a few hours first. But when I launch it again, the game crashes after 2-3 seconds or near first column. Reinstall didn't help

window update has a habit of disabling the AMD Adrenalin app and changing the driver to a Microsoft one which screws all my games up=It drives ya crazy
do the same thing you do every patch tuesday reinstall ya video driver after windows update deleted it AGAIN
it nerfs nvidia drivers too on win 10 and 11
games dont work very well when microsoft replace ya gpu driver with microsoft generic monitor driver every patch tuesday weather windows device driver updates are disabled or not in the group policy settings for windows update as windows update will screw it up anyway n half ya games stop working every patch tuesday

new Dreamcore patch works fine today i can see lots a things i didn't see on day one

i have the same CPU as the op ryzen 7 pro
I have 16 gb corsair vengance ram instead of 32 as op has 32gb
My GPU is MSI Armour Radeon RX 580 8Gb ddr5
AMD video Adrenalin edition driver is current version= 23.8.1

everything up to date
free ue5 dev kit from epic store also works fine on my machine along with any ue5 game i tried so far
ue 1 2 3 4 and 5 unreal engine dev kits also work fine

if have nvidia update physx driver when ya update ya video driver from nvidia website

lots a unreal engine games use physx

installing ue5 dev kit make good jumper leads=jump start it instal everything ue5 games need vs installing its redist files

Steam cloud is permanently disabled as that bricks games if its left on

The game seems to be working fine for me with or without disabling the VHS effect

being a UE5 game perhaps go on microsoft website and update dot net framework
make sure pretty much every version of Visual C ++ redist since 2010 to current version is installed
if pc run 32 and 64 bit programs install both 32 and 64 bit redist
chances are it fix ue1 ue2 ue3 ue4 and ue5 games

update direct x 9 10 11 and 12 while ya still on microsoft official website

still nothing maybe try these in steam launch options for dreamcore
right click the game in library properties

one of em should work find which one is best try em all 1 at a time
-Dx12 usualy does the trick with ue5 games

chances are game will run and also fix black screen or screen tearing I got alot of screen tearing in rout 66 playtest n that's ue5 i think and -Dx12 fixed the screen tearing bugs and the fatal error crashes in that one but this game just works out the box so far and my monitor is a Bauhn 58 inch ultra hd tv from ALDI i found in garbage on side of the road a year ago n the game looks pretty cool in 4k on a really big tv

definitely one for the wish list it be interesting to see where this one goes it looks nice
xbox controller n mouse at same time works like a charm=goodbye keyboard hello nice controls
wish I could jump so can ignore the sign and jump over the railings it says not to jump over:)
would be cool to ride the slides even if slides are teleports

verify game cache does jack to fix any game it skips everything thats broken xd
open game folder and delete the games files all of em then verify the game cache to reinstall the game properly

if it still dies on ya turn this unwanted rubbish off

cloud can screw up the saves in it tho esp after game updates vs any ue4 or ue5 game
no cloud no crashes=cloud can't reinstall corrupt saves ya already deleted 79 times from previous updates every time ya start the game then instead of swearing at crashes one plays new game:)

verify game cache again for the fun of it now start the game if it was working fine before it should be working fine now


I like Dreamcore so far ya gotta spend more time in it to understand it with or without the VHS Effects

kinda wish the player hold a video camera with the tv static on its screen instead of mine then use the camera to record the found footage

oh yeah make sure a working sound device is plugged in as unreal engine can crash if it cant find a sound device=plug ones headphones in if pc has no speakers etc

op has a better gpu than i do so it should work i have the same cpu n op has double the ram that i have and it runs fine on my end on ultra settings in 4k

hope something fix this game for others that cant start it that also meet the requirements on the store page to run it and it probly as simple as making sure redist is installed dx n dot net and visualc ++ redist are up to date

Nothing fixed it so far.

FIxed it. Upgraded video drivers to AMD Radeon 23.8.2.
Works perfect now. I had stuck to earlier drivers because of various issues (stuttering) in other games. That seems to be fixed in this version as well.
